# Terminology

> Canonical public terms used throughout Leamout documentation.

| Organization            | Customer tenant and ownership boundary.                                       |
| Organization credential | Scoped bearer credential for an organization.                                 |
| Voice application       | Programmable voice configuration and inbound binding target.                  |
| Carrier provider        | Provider definition/adapter available to carrier connections.                 |
| Carrier connection      | Organization-owned carrier relationship, authentication, and policy boundary. |
| Trunk                   | Routable SIP service using BYOC or managed provisioning.                      |
| Trunk endpoint          | Physical SIP destination attached to a trunk.                                 |
| Number                  | Organization-owned phone-number resource.                                     |
| SIP domain              | Organization-owned SIP namespace.                                             |
| Subscriber              | SIP identity within a SIP domain.                                             |
| Call                    | Durable inbound or outbound telecom call resource.                            |
| Runtime                 | The Leamout communications execution environment.                             |
| BYOC                    | Bring Your Own Carrier; the customer keeps the carrier relationship.          |
| Managed connectivity    | Carrier connectivity supplied through Leamout policy/provider integrations.   |

Use **organization**, not the older account/project terminology, for the current tenant model.
