Make an outbound call

Create an outbound call after Leamout resolves a usable telecom route.

Create an outbound call with POST /v1/calls/.

For an explicit BYOC route, provide a trunk_id:

The request can also include call variables, privacy, DTMF mode, codec ordering, and media-encryption policy.

Leamout resolves the public request to a concrete carrier connection, trunk, and trunk endpoint. The returned call records those route IDs so the selected path remains auditable.

A successful create returns HTTP 201. The call response includes fields such as id, direction, state, media_state, from, to, sip_call_id, route attribution, and timestamps.

The call state returned by the create operation reflects the state reached by the communications runtime before the API response is produced.
